Explore Mount Abu
Delwara Jain Temple

These beautifully carved temples built between 11th and 13th century A.D. are sheer elegance in marble, dedicated to the jain Tirthankaras. The Vimal Vasahi temple is the oldest of these dedicated to the first Tirthankara. Built in 1031 A.D. (by Vimal Shah-a merchant and representative of then Gujarat ruler), it is a superb example of temple architecture. The central shrine has an image of Rishabhdev and large courtyard with 52 small shrines, each housing a beautiful statue of thirthankaras with 48 elegantly carved pillars form the entrance to the courtyard. The Lun Vasahi Temple, dedicated to the 22nd Tirthankaras-Neminath, was built in 1231 A.D. by two brothers-Vastupal and Tejpal,Ministers of Raja Vir Dhawal, a ruler of Gujarat-belonging to the Porwal Jain community. With door casings, pillars,architraves,and sculptures on porticos, the temple is a fine specimen of craftsmanship.

Adhar Devi Temple
The temple is chiselled out of a huge rock reached by a flight of 360 stairs. A favourite tourist spot.

Museum and Art Gallery
Located at the Raj Bhawan, it was a collection of archaeological excavations dating back to 8th-12th century A.D. It also has Jain bronze carvings,brass works etc. for viewing.

Nakki Lake
Legend has that this small lake, was scooped out by a god using only his nails(or nakh).The lake is surrounded by hills , parks and strange rock formations. The 14th Century Raghunahth temple stands beside the lake. Several Maharajas built lavish summer houses around the Nakki lake, a nd the maharaja of Jaipur's former summer palace is perched on a hill onlooking the water.

Sunset Point
Spectacular sight of the setting sun when the hills are covered in the golden glow can be viewed from here.

Honeymoon Point
Also known as Andra Point, it offers an enchanting view of the verdant plains and valleys. The place looks most beautiful during the dusk hours.

Explore Udaipur
City Palace
A majestic architectural marvel towering over the lake on a hill surrounded by crenelated walls, it is a conglomeration of courtyards, pavilions, terraces, corridors, rooms and hanging gardens. The main entrance is through the triple arched gate, the ‘Tripolia’ with eight marble porticos. The Maharana were weighed under the gate in the gold, the equivalent amount of which was distributed among the populace.

Saheliyon-ki-Bari
This small ornamental garden was a popular relaxing spot where royal ladies came for a stroll and hence the name. The garden has many fountains in its four delightful pools, chiseled kiosks and marble elephants.

Pratap Memorial
Atop the Moti nagri or pearl hill, overlooking the Fateh Sagar Lake is the memorial of the Rajput hero Maharana Pratap with a bronze statue of the Maharana.

Jagdish Temple
Built in 1651 A.D. By Maharana Jagat Singh, this Indo-Aryan temple is the largest and the most beautiful temple of Udaipur with noteworthy sculpted images.

Gulab Bagh
A spectacular rose garden laid out by Maharana Sajjan Singh. A library in the garden has a rare collection of ancient handwritten manuscripts and books.

Ahar
The ancient capital of Sisodias, 3 km from Udaipur, Ahar boasts of a profusion of royal cenotaphs of the rulers of Mewar. A rare collection of antiquities including earthen pots, iron objects and other art items excavated in the region are displayed in a small Govt. museum.

Sajjan Garh
Dominating the city’s skyline is the monsoon palace of Sajjangarh.It offers a panoramic overview of the city’s lakes, palaces and the surrounding countryside.

Fateh Sagar
A beautiful lake, overlooked by a number of hills on the three sides and the Pratap Memorial on the north was built by Maharana Fateh Singh. In the middle of the lake is Nehru Park-a lovely garden island with a boat shaped café accessible by an enjoyable boat ride.

Pichola Lake
The picturesque lake that entranced Maharaja Udai Singh. It was later enlarged by the founder. The lake is surrounded by hills, palaces, temples, bathing ghats and embankments. Two island palaces, Jag Mandir and Jag Niwas(Lake Palace) on the lake are of breathtaking.

Bhartiya Lok Kala Museum
The interesting collection exhibited by this Indian folk arts museum includes folk dresses, ornaments, puppets, masks, dolls, folk musical instruments, folk deities and paintings.

Shilpgram
West Zone Cultural Center in Udaipur has set up an artisan's village called - Shilpgram, 3 Kms west of Udaipur. It is a living ethnographic museum depicting life style, traditions, customs and folk arts of the rural and tribal people of the states of Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Daman, and many more.

Eklingi Temple
The beautifully sculptured temple complex dedicated to Lord Shiva was built in 734 A.D.The walled complex encloses 108 temples.

Nathdwara
The most revered 17th century shrine, dedicated Shrinathji or Lord Krishna, attracts thousands of Pilgrims from all over the country, especially during Diwali, Holi and Janmashtami when their number exceeds a lak. Photography is prohibited.

Jaisamand Sanctuary
Jaisamand Sanctuary is situated 50 kms south of Udaipur the picturesque city of lakes verdant valleys and hills. It is on the bank of Jaisamand Lake, the second largest artificial Lake in Asia.The leopard, hyena, jungle cat, fox and wolf are among the carnivores of the sanctuary. Other wildlife here includes sambar, chital, langur and chinkara. The Jaisamand lake is the abode of crocodiles, turtles and a variety of fish. Various species of terrestrial and water-birds can also be seen here.

The Chittorgarh Fort

The indomitable pride of Chittaur, the fort is a massive structure with many gateways built by the later Maurya rulers in 7th century A.D. Perched on a height of 180 m. high hill, it sprawls over 700 acres. The tablets and Chattris within are impressive reminders of the Rajput heroism. The main gates are Padal Pol, Bhairon Pol Hanuman pol and Ram Pol. The fort has many magnificent monuments-all fine examples of the Rajput architecture. The ancient ruins of the fort are worth spending few moments in solitude.

Vijay Stambh (Victory Tower)
The imposing 37 metre high structure with nine storeys, covered with exquisite sculptures of Hindu deities and depicting episodes from the two great epics-Ramayana and Mahabharata.

Kirti Stambh (Tower of Fame)
The 22 metres high tower by a wealthy jain merchant in the 12th century A.D. The tower is dedicated to Adinathji,the first of the Jain Tirthankaras and is decorated with figures of the Jain pantheon.

Rana Kumbha’s Palace
The ruined edifice of great historical and architectural interest, being the most massive monument in the fort of Chittaur. The palace is believed to have underground cellars where Ranio Padmini and other women committed Jauhar.

Meerabai Temple
The temple where Meerabai worshipped Lord Krishna is built in north Indian style on a raised plinth with a conical roof and beautiful inner sanctum. An open colonnade around the sanctum has four small pavilions in each corner.

Padmini’s Palace
Built beside a pool, the palace is a magnificent one. It was here that Rana Ratan Singh showed a glimpse of queen Padmini to Alauddin Khilji. Rani Padmini stood in a ‘Zanana Mahal’- a pavilion in the centre and her reflection was visible to Alauddin Khilji in a mirror placed in the main hall. After having a glimpse of the legendary beauty, Alauddin went to the extend to ravaging Chittaur in order to possess her.

Government Museum
The magnificent Fateh Prakash Mahal, presently a fine Museum with an exquisite example of sculptures from temples and buildings in the fort is worth a visit.

Kumbha Shyam Temple
Built during the region of Rana Kumbha in the Indo-Aryan style, the temple is associated with the mystic poetess Meerabai- an ardent Krishna devotee. She was the wife of Prince Bhojraj.

Kalika Mata Temple
Originally built as a Sun Temple in the 8th century, the temple was later converted into Kalika Mata Temple in the 14th century A.D., dedicated to the mother Goddess Kali- the symbol of power and valour.

Jaimal and Patta Palaces
The ruins of palaces of Rathore Jaimal and Sisodia Patta are witness to the gallantry of these great warriors.

Taragarh 'The Star Fort'

Perched on a thickly wooded hill is a marvelous white fort with a huge reservoir which once supplied water to the palace. Built in 1354 AD the fort is one of the most impressive forts of Rajasthan.

Chitrashala
A fascinating pavilion and a gallery of miniature murals embellish the palace. Elaborate Colourful paintings on the walls depict scenes from the 'Ragamala' 'Raaslila' -- the Radha-Krishna story.

Sukh Mahal
A magnificent summer palace on the Sukh Sagar Lake amid the lush surroundings of a beautiful garden. An underground tunnel is believed to run from the Sukh Mahal to the old palace.

Baoris & Water Tanks
Bundi has around 60 beautiful baories. The very impressive Raniji - ki - Baori is 46m deep and has some superb carving. Thje Nager Sager Kund, nearby , is a pair of matching step-wells outside the Chougan gate of the old city. Visible from the fort is the square artificial lake of Nawal Sagar, broken up by islets. A temple dedicated to Varuna, the Aryan god of water, stands half submerged in the centre of the lake. The reflection of the entire city and its palaces can be seen in the lake -making it a unique attraction of Bundi.

Kota
Kota is just 36 Km away from Bundi.It Famous for the Chambal River, the only permanent river in Rajasthan.you can also visit the famous Maharao Madho Singh Museum, Kota Barrage, Jag Mandir, Chambal Garden Rana Pratap Sagar Dam and Bhainsrogarh.

Also accessible from kota are the Darrah Wildlife sanctuary, National Chambal Wildlife Sanctuary and Sorsan grasslands. You can hire a jeep to reach these parks.

Jantar Mantar
An accurate observatory built in 1726.It contains 13 different instruments for calculating such things as the time of day, the altitudes of heavenly bodies, and the positions of constellations. Although the instruments look like modern sculpture, they are able to make calculations accurate to one second.

Pushkar
Famous for the Pushkar Fair . Pushkar is about 150 kms from Jaipur . The holy city of Rajasthan, Pushkar is also famous for the Brahma Temple and Ghats.

Sariska ( En Route)
Famous for the Sariska tiger reserve park is just 110 kms from Jaipur. This sanctuary can be visited year - round. There are estimated 25 tigers in Sariska and the number is said to be on increase. Apart from tigers this sanctuary also consists of leopards, hyenas, wild boars, blue bulls, sambars, spotted dear and around 300 hundred species of birds.
The best way to visit the park is through jeep.

Ranthambore National Park

The 392 sq. km. Park comprises of dry deciduous forests sprawling over an undulating terrain of the Aravalli and Vindhyan ranges .The park is one of the finest tiger reserve in the country under the Project Tiger. Ranthambhor sanctuary has a large number of sambhar, chital. Nilgai, chinkara, langur , wild boar and peafowl. A system of three pretty artificial lakes-Padam Talab, Rajbagh and Milak Talab, along with a number of anicuts are part of the biosphere. Besides enhancing the scenic beauty of the Park, they are an important source of water for the inhabitants of the park. The local fauna of the park includes leopard, hyena, jackal, jungle cat, sloth bear and a little population of pythons.

The Fort
Ranthambhor’s royal past manifests itself in the well-preserved imposing fort, built in 994 A.D. atop a steep high creek 200 metres above sea level. Ruined pavilions, walls, chhatris and splendid monuments are interspersed within the majestic fort. An 8th century A.D. Ganesh temple on an open land attracts thousands of devotees and is the venue for an annual fair held on. Bhadrapad Sudi Chaturthi, fourth day of the bright half, in the month of Bhadra.
